Under-mounted sink looks neat and modern as the solid worktop have a straight surface and the only appliances goes on top are the tap, filter or push button. The sink itself sits underneath the worktop and the sink edges are rounded and polished gives a nice smooth shape for the sink area. That’s requiring extra work and worktop price tent to be more expansive than inset sink cuts. Under-mounted sink also require tap holes cuts and customised drainer groves thus extra machine need to be involved in the cutting process which makes the under-mounted sink the expensive choice. In this scenario there is a trade-off between costs and design. Most under mounted sink comes in bowl and half bowl shape and Blanco Ypsilon 340-U and Blanco jota 160-U can fit into standard 600mm base. There are two main set of under-mounted sink either sink comes as a one set of bowl and half bowl or set of two sink bowls are separated or there is long distance between them. The Blanco Supreme 533- U or Franke equivalent ARX160 or the CDA Cum 16 which is more reasonably priced. Again all of these will go into a 600mm base unit.
